Phuket has always enjoyed a steady influx of Australian visitors to the island. Over the years they have been some of the most consistent numbers. We could see even more Aussie visitors to Phuket if Jetstar names Phuket as being the choice destination for their new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Apparently, it is highly likely that Phuket will become a new destination for the Dreamliner, which will begin flying on 18 December on its Melbourne-Bali route.
Jetstar will also launch twice-weekly flights between Phuket and Melbourne later in December, building up to 3 flights per week in March.
Over the past 2 years, we have seen arrival figures at Phuket International dramatically grow, which helped make last high-season one of the best in recent memory.
It seems we are riding on the crest of a wave at the moment, with this high-season primed to become the best that Phuket has ever seen in terms of arrival numbers.
