I knew Phuket Bike Week had been around for quite some time, but I didn’t realize that this year’s celebration of all things motorized on two wheels is actually the 20th Anniversary. Set to take place at Patong Beach and at Saphan-Hin in Phuket Town as usual, this year’s festival, which usually coincides with Songkran will take place from the 11th to 19th April and is expected to be the best ever, set to attract over 5,000 motorcycle enthusiasts and 30,000 visitors from 26 countries. The revenue generated is expected to be somewherenear the 600 million THB mark.
The Patong part of the festival will be held at Loma Park from 11-14 April, while the festivities will continue at Saphan-Hin on the 18-19 April. As usual, shows, bike rides and basically a reality exhibition of hundreds of custom-made bikes will be on show. The festival always creates a fun and exciting atmosphere, and this year will surely be no different.
