One of the things that makes Phuket a great destination for not only a holiday, but also as somewhere to live, is its solid infrastructure. Many of Thailand’s other islands, such as Koh Samui and Koh Lanta really do struggle in those terms. There has been some news recently that Phuket might have another Bypass road coming soon.
As reported by the Phuket Gazette earlier this week, the government is currently thinking about creating a second bypass road from near the Heroines Monument through to Kathu near the British International School and Loch Palm, to alleviate the traffic congestion woes that sometime make driving in certain parts of Phuket quite time consuming during the morning and evening rush hours.
As the years go by, Patong and Kathu are becoming like one single place anyway, so such a bypass would definitely help most people in the central part of the island.
When we hear more, we will keep you updated on the proposal for the new road.
