A sunny and laidback environment such as Phuket’s is perfect for foreign retirees. Chalulangkorn University’s Associate Professor Manop Pongsatad agrees pretty much the same, especially in the aftermath of the Bangkok floods and stated at a recent Phuket seminar that more people than ever before were looking to invest beyond Bangkok.
The catalyst for this new way of thinking is born from the recent Bangkok flood situation, with those looking for a second home now considering Phuket more and more. Mr Pongsatad also said that even though it seems Phuket property is quite expensive, those who live in Bangkok are as interested in buying Phuket property as much as international buyers.
The Phuket Real Estate Association organized the seminar at the Royal Phuket City Hotel chaired by Vice Governor Somkiet Sangkaosutthirak. Phuket should be chosen every time above Bangkok, as the environment is more conducive for those who seek rest and relaxation such as retirees. Hopefully, this kind of thinking will ensure concerted efforts are made to attract more retirees to the island in the upcoming years.
