The beauty about Phuket is that the main destinations are mainly situated on the west coast of the island sometimes separated by jungle-laden mountains and bays. There are many popular beachside destinations in Phuket, such as Patong, Kamala, Suring and Bang Tao, Nai Harn and Karon. One of my favorites, and also one of the best family areas is Kata Beach, just a 15-minute drive south of Patong.
Kata has one of the nicest beaches in Phuket and more restaurants than you can imagine, alongside a vibrant nightlife scene. Kata is a great Phuket family-friendly destination.
There are also some fine Phuket real estate options in Kata, mainly condominium developments, some of which have the most dramatic sea-views. If you are looking for a place in Phuket to reside or especially if you are looking to buy an apartment and make back money on your investment through rental returns, Kata is one of the best choices.
