If there’s one Phuket restaurant that always puts a smile on my face, it’s Le Winch. Tucked away in Boat Lagoon, and on the opposite side of most of the shopping and restaurants, it’s one of those hidden gems of Phuket. Overlooking the marina and perfectly run by Chef Vincent Meuwly from Lausanne, this small, discreet and cosy 40-seat restaurant has to be one of my all time favourites, and it’s ideal location means it’s an easy place to stop by for a casual lunch while out and about, or for a relaxed and intimate evening meal.
There’s a mouth watering menu of simple and wholesome Gallic French dishes, cooked fresh by Chef Vincent using only the best ingredients, and in true French tradition there’s even a very reasonably priced and tasty Plat Du Jour, a popular dish with local expats working in and around the marina who fill the restaurant daily at lunch time.
Generous portions means that I don’t always manage a dessert, but if you do try the Citron Tartes, they’re delicious! or my wife’s favourite, Chef Vincent’s rich, dark, melt in the mouth chocolate mousse.
If you fancy dropping into Le Winch for a tasty bite while out on a property inspection tour with me, just let me know and I’ll schedule it in.
