The 10th Phuket International Boat show that took place recently at Royal Phuket Marina was once again a resounding success. The luxury boats always cause a bit of a stir, but other features such as marine products and services, trailerable boats and real estate also went down very well indeed.
The show attracted a massive 4,000 visitors from over 22 nationalities making this a truly international event. The Russians were definitely out in full force and made up a large total of the attendees.
Andy Dowden, the Pimex show director was upbeat in his analysis of the event. “The marine leisure lifestyle is still relatively new to Thai people, but the level of interest is growing and it’s great to see a year-on-year increase by Thai visitors to the Show,” said Andy. “We’re proud to have contributed to the growth of the marine industry in Phuket and the region through Pimex over the past 10 years, and look forward to the next 10 years. With the traditional boating markets of Europe and the Americas facing hard times, all eyes are on Asia for future growth, and Phuket is positioned at the region’s heart to lead that growth.”
The event has grown in epic proportions of the years. The event that started out as a local boat show has now turned into an international annual event of the highest order, just what Phuket needs to continue establishing itself as an ultra-luxurious and high end holiday destination.
