Although this is usually the lowest time of the year in terms of passenger arrivals in Phuket and Thailand, some great news from Airports of Thailand (AoT) has confirmed that from its June data, there has been increases right across the country at 6 airports, with Phuket being one of them.
The reports from AoT show that passenger arrivals across the country’s airports have risen by over 37% on this time last year. The AoT supervised airports show that they handles 8,044,421 passengers in June, which was only 5,838,276 during the same month last year.
Phuket International Airport enjoyed an increase of over 11% on June last year with the total rising from 2,674 to 3,235.
This is great news for the country as a whole and Phuket of course, which bodes well for the upcoming high season months that lay ahead.
