When the Boat Avenue Complex in Cherngtalay was first constructed, many residents who live in the surrounding areas were extremely happy to finally have Western shopping options like many other parts of the island. So much as Boat Avenue been a success that there is a new expansion in the works that is set to take the complex to the next level.
The new expansion project for Boat Avenue is expected to be more than 100 million THB and has already begun.
Boat Avenue Vice President, Boon Yongsakul, was recently told The Phuket News that, “Boat Avenue is booming. All businesses here are doing very well, and many other businesses want to lease commercial buildings from us. So, due to the high demand, we are expanding Boat Avenue.”
“We have several projects lined up with the total budget over B100mn to transform the lagoon at the site into a mega-shopping centre in a modern design. It will be international shopping experience for everybody, with stores everything from local products to luxury imports.”
The first and second floors will be home to furniture stores, luxury goods, an international health and beauty center, a pizza delivery stall, banks and a wide selection of restaurants.
