Those of you who live or holiday in Phuket will already know that Thai people love football. They passionately follow the sport, but their lack of success qualifying for major tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup has been down to the lack of good quality grass-roots level coaching, although it is improving.
On the 3rd and 4th October 2015, there is the 3rd National Youth Football Tournament taking place, ran and organized by Phuket Soccer Schools (PSS). The age groups to take part in the tourney are from under 8s to under 14s, which will be hosted at the impressive sporting facilities at the Thanyapura Sports Club in Phuket.
Teams from Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and local teams from the island will be taking part. Anyone can enter a squad, which comes with a 3,000 THB entry fee. There will be trophies for the winners and runners up.
