We love a quality international sporting event, especially when it’s going to be hosted in Phuket. The upcoming ASEAN Beach Games in Phuket, taking place on the island on the 14th to 23rd October 2014, is a great opportunity to bring some pride and positive news back to Thailand after a tumulus few weeks, which will also bring back the attention to our beautiful island.
The ASEAN Beach Games in Phuket will feature more than 4,000 athletes and referees from across 47 different countries and is the 4th time the event has been organized. So we are fortunate to be given this great opportunity.
Phuket Governor, Nisit Jansomwong, believes the games are a great opportunity to show the best aspects of Thailand, especially Phuket, with the world’s eyes once again peering our way. “This is a chance to restore confidence in Thailand as a safe tourist destination. We must all work together to ensure the safety of all residents and tourists in the Land of Smiles,” said Nisit.
Hosting the games gives us all across the island the chance to welcome over 10,000 visitors from across the world to enjoy the games and bask in the beauty and hospitality that makes Phuket such a popular paradise island.
