The world-famous Mom Tri’s Boathouse Resort at Kata Beach had become an institution on Phuket Island for the best part of two decades, and has recently received a facelift that took five-months to complete. The resort and restaurant is enjoying some changes such as a new beach club, roof-top terrace, a spacious boutique with a gourmet café and a spa. Alongside the interior changes, the name of Mom Tri’s has been changed to ‘Boathouse, Resort on the Beach’.
The restaurant has too been refurbished with a new open kitchen and a captain’s table so you can watch your dishes being cooked at first hand. Spending many great nights at Mom Tri’s Boathouse and Grill during my years on Phuket really bring back fond memories of five-star cuisine and award-winning wines that made Boathouse the place to be for years upon end.
Originally styled by the designer, ML Tridosyudh Devakula, the new interiors were designed by Frenchman Fredo Taffin who details the new Mom Tri’s as, “classical architectural symmetry with modern chic to create exclusive beachfront living, dining and relaxation”. Sounds pretty swish!
Phuket restaurants don’t come much better than the Boathouse, especially with the new wine cellar where you can now see their 800 labels on display!
