One of the great things about living in Phuket at this time of year – apart from the tropical climate – is the amount of festivals kicking off! There is not another nation in Asia that knows how to party like the Thais. It is an intricate part of their colorful way of life.
The dates for the Chalong Temple Fair have just been announced. The popular fair will take place on February 10-16. Those who live on the south and central parts of the island really do love this festival, and be sure, there will be thousands of food and clothes stores and on the last night there will be a firework display lasting 40 minutes.
The Mayor of Chalong Municipality, Somran Jindapon said that many people come together every year to make this festival possible. “It has been running in Phuket for a very long time,” said Somran. “I invite everyone to come along to enjoy the festival.”
The Phuket Old Town Festival is also back for another year and will take place on February 15-17 at the same time as the Chinese New year Festivities.
Like I said before, this is a great time of year to be living or visiting the island so make sure you don’t miss out on these two popular Phuket festivals.
