In the run up to the peak season Christmas period, the Patong Carnival kicks in to gear today. This six-day annual carnival starts today (15 December) and runs through until 20 December promising and action packed few days. If you are taking a much needed Phuket holiday or are a resident of Phuket, you must spend some time at the Patong Carnival and soak up the festive atmosphere.
Over the six day carnival, stages are set up at the beach end of Bangla Road, and also at Loma Park just further down beach road. Concerts will be held concurrently on both stages with performers including popular Thai artists such as Tai Oratai and Baowee, alongside traditional performances by Wat Hui Pom Nok Municipality School students from Songkhla.
This is a popular Phuket festival, and the perfect way to get into party spirits in the lead up to Christmas and New Year, which promises to be a busy and exhilarating time for Phuket tourism and the businesses that depend on the influx to maintain their livelihoods.
