If you want to experience a real slice of what Phuket is all about and its history, the 17th annual Phuket Old Town Festival will kick off on the 12th February and will celebrate Phuket’s history, traditions and culture. The festival will get underway on the four main roads in Phuket Town: Thalang Road, Thepkrasattri Road, Soi Romanee and Krabi Road, and promises to be a memorable event as always.
Phuket Town Mayor, Somjai Suwansupana, recently confirmed that “This is the 17th year that the Old Town Festival has been organized by the Phuket City Municipality and the Cultural Department, and is being held simultaneously with Chinese New Year celebrations,”
There will be lots of performances and shows staged at many venues throughout the city over the 3-day festival, along with hoards of vendors and stalls selling all kinds of food and local items.
If you are in Phuket over the course of mid-February and want to sample a special slice of authentic Phuket, we would suggest you get yourself over to the festival and bask in the colorful culture and atmosphere.
