It’s that time of the year again folks with the return of the iconic Phuket Old Town Festival, set to take place from the 7th to 9th February. This is when Thalang, Soi Romanee, Krabi, Phuket, Thepkrassatri and Phang Nga roads become walking streets for a couple of nights to celebrate the festivities.
The festival kicks off with an impressive parade on Thalang Road on the evening of February 7.
The festivals main objectives are promoting the town as a cultural and tourist attraction while also to develop and conserve the local Chinese culture.
Weave your way through the cacophony of food stalls and stands, traditional stage performances and the mini-concerts from the likes of Su Bunleang, Aui Rawiwan and Jeab Wanna.
For the first time in the festival’s history, the Tourism Authorty of Thailand (TAT) have set up a booth to promote a Thai dessert called Pui Tae Goiy.
There are 80,000 people expected to join the celebrations, which could generate an estimated in 200 million THB.
