Whether we live here in Thailand or we are just on holiday, we become easily fascinated by all aspects of Thai culture, good, bad, colorful and everything in between. One of the most popular parts of being or visiting Thailand is being able to catch a real Muay Thai boxing bout close up and personal, but hopefully not too personal from my point of view. These guys, and gals, might be half my size but they are harder than a block of cement.
From tomorrow night (17 May) and every Saturday for the foreseeable future, the owner of the Singpatong + Sitnumnoi Gym in Patong Beach will be launching an elite fight series entitled “Suk Singpatong + Sitnumnoi Saturday Night Fight” at the Patong Boxing Stadium on soi Sai Nam Yen.
The events will feature top international and Thai fighters battling it out for supremacy within the squared circle. The event is expected to bring together many fighters of similar levels to create the biggest and best fight atmosphere in Phuket.
So if you are a fight fan, or just want to experience Muay Thai boxing for the first time, get yourself over Patong tomorrow night and every Saturday thereafter. You won’t be disappointed.
