Although marathons are always quite daunting regardless of how fit, or in my case, how unfit I am. One of the great things about running a marathon, or just being involved in a spectator sense, is that they are always good for raising money for charities. If you are interested in taking part in such a run in any way possible, the upcoming Starwood Mini-Marathon, set to start at Bang Wad Dam in Kathu on the morning of the 12th October is a good opportunity to do your bit for charity.
Starwood hotels and resorts, in conjunction with The Westin Siray Bay Resort and Spa, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort and Naka Island have come together to organize this mini-marathon in order to raise money for the Baan Bang Thong School and Life Foundation, which is a great cause.
The Bang Wad Dam in Kathu is the starting place for the mini-marathon, starting at 6am onwards. The event categories are split into 10 sections on n age basis starting from 25 years old to 65 and upwards.
There are two runs available, with the largest being 10km that is 250 THB to enter. The second part is a fun run over 3.5km with 200 THB to enter. Included in the price is a free bib, T-short and bottled water. For more info, you can contact 076-370100 or Email: [email protected]
