As Chinese New Year creeps upon us, there has been some excellent news that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will have a helping hand in organizing this year’s festivities on the island. TAT are organizing the festivities for not just Phuket, but also across 11 other major provinces across Thailand.
Suraphon Svetasreni, the TAT Governor said, “We expect that more than 2.6 million domestic and foreign tourists will be on the move during Chinese New Year, generating nearly 11 billion Baht in spending.”
This also cements great relations with the Chinese people, as TAT expect arrivals from China to Thailand in 2013 are projected to be around the 3.3 million mark.
As soon as more news about what events we can expect over the Chinese New Year, we will let you know. As we said in our blog yesterday, this is the perfect time of year to visit Phuket.
