It seems at this moment in time, everyone is jumping on the Phuket tourism bandwagon wanting their piece of the action… and rightfully so. The amount of articles over the past 12 months that have detailed new flight routes and carriers across the world into Phuket is astounding. It just shows you the reputation the island manages uphold year upon year, despite what bad or good luck is thrown our way!
Thomson Airways, which is a British airline, will launch weekly direct flights from Gatwick Airport in London to Phuket from November 2013. The new route will include the usage of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane, which can carry a total of 250 passengers on routes of 7,650 to 8,200 nautical miles.
An official statement from Thomson, told the English newspaper, The Telegraph, “We are thrilled that we are able to offer an exclusive, direct flight to Phuket on the Thomson 787 Dreamliner and we are confident that our customers will love the destination and the hotels we will be operating to.”
Thomson Airways will be the first tour operator to offer direct flights to Phuket from the UK.
