I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this book, as it’s always surprised me how little can be found written in english on Phuket’s rich history and culture. I’ve known Scotsman Colin and his wife Ana for many years, and over these years Colin has always fascinated me with his stories and vast knowledge of Phuket, so I am certain that this book is going to captivate anyone who has an interest to learn more about this wonderful island.
Colin first visited Phuket back in 1985 and came to live on the island permanently in 1998 where he still lives with his wife Ana and their 2 daughters. Over the years he has thoroughly researched Phuket’s history, and his 438 page masterpiece examines life on this island for the past 2000 years, with more than 1,000 original quotes and writings from commentators and visitors, illustrations of over 100 maps, pictures and photographs, many of which have never been published before.
