With so many reports about the dropping standards of Thai Airways over the past couple of years, it’s nice to be able to report some good news for the Thai aviation sector, as Bangkok Airways have just scooped a prestigious award for their excellence in recent times.
Bangkok Airways was recently named as CAPA Asia Pacific Regional Airline of the Year, which recognizes regional airlines for their stand-out strategies and how they lead the market sector in terms of innovation.
The award was gratefully received by Bangkok Airways President Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, from Travelport Vice President Asia Pacific, Air Commerce, Damian Hickey. Selected by a panel of judges, Bangkok Airways has earned its reward.
“Bangkok Airways was the most profitable airline in Thailand in 2014, growing and remaining in the black despite the civil unrest in Bangkok,” Mr Harbison said. “It completed an IPO in Nov-2014, becoming one of only a few Thai companies to go public in the most difficult of years.”
The airline has remained profitable through 2015, continuing to grow and expand its partnership portfolio.
