Phuket International Airport is about to introduce parking areas for ladies only, available for women travelling by themselves or with children under 12 years old. Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok already has the entire third floor of the building reserved for “Lady Parking”, which is designed to make travelling safer for females with security guards watching over the 450 bays.
The Phuket Lady Parking is set to be launched on 12th August to coincide with Mother’s Day and HM The Queen’s birthday. The plan is to create these special zones in airports across the nation.
A spokesperson from Phuket International Airport said that the areas will be well lit and will be well secure. Bearing in mind that the new plans will make travelling safer for women, the Lady Parking areas are a very positive thing.
