Great news from TAT this week that Thailand has seen a 3% rise in arrivals from the UK in the first 6 months of the year compared to the same period last year. Given that the European market has been a little shaky over the past few years, this is very positive stuff. Visitors from the UK are now the second largest to visit Thailand from Europe, just behind Germany.
“Given the recent economic conditions in the UK, that is a very acceptable result,” said TAT.
The first 6 months of 2013 have seen 410,538 visitors from the UK, which is up more than 3% on this time last year. TAT have projected that 838,000 UK arrivals will land in Thailand over the course of the year.
UK tourists are always quality in regards to how long they stay in Thailand with an average stay of 17 days, which well exceeds the overall average of 10 days.
Regardless, it’s always good for businesses in Thailand when we see more Europeans visiting the country as historically speaking they stay the longest and spend the most money when they are here.
