Chinese New Year was once again a big success in Phuket, which means quite a lot to the island’s resident’s when bearing in mind its historic link to China over the years. Hotels across Thailand over the Chinese New Year Festivities have been around the 90% mark, which is very impressive.
Businesses across the major tourist areas in Thailand, especially Phuket have really enjoyed the healthy growth rate during the festivities.
The 90% occupancy rates were announced by the President of the Thai Association (THA), Surapong Techaruvichit, and collated from one of their own surveys.
Mr Surapong went on to explain that these occupancy rates were reported from the country’s major cities and holiday destinations such as Phuket, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Bangkok and Cha-Am. THA also predicts that it will be a very busy year for Thailand’s hotels, which is all great news for business owners, who in honesty make the tourism scene tick.
