For the past few years it has been obvious that the increased influx of arrivals at Phuket International Airport has put serious stain on the island. Those who have passed through the airport, which is all of us, can attest that it can be quite time consuming due to its relative small size in comparison to its arrivals.
Much news has been made of the construction of a new terminal at Phuket Internatonal Airport, and we can now confirm that the new terminal should be open in February 2014, according to airport chief, Monrudee Ketphan.
Although that’s still over a year away, it’s nice to know that work will be completed. The new multi-storey car park is already open, giving us a sneak preview of what the future holds for those travelling to Phuket by plane.
The transformation is expected to start in mid-2015, so let’s all keep our fingers crossed that everything goes to plan.
