It’s funny how the Cape Panwa area of the island doesn’t get much press, which is surprising because it is one of the most laidback and scenic places in Phuket, and just a 10-minute drive from Phuket Town and Chalong. Know predominantly for its 5-star hotels and resorts, Cape Panwa is a true paradise with some of the quietest beaches on the island, a nice selection of restaurants, and it’s even the home of Phuket Aquarium.
I had lived in Phuket for almost 6 months until I learned about Cape Panwa, located on the eastern coastline of the island, overlooking the distant Chalong across the bay. Private, peaceful, beautiful and enjoying a high-end holiday and residential environment, Cape Panwa is still one the island’s best kept secrets after all these years.
The quaint village is perfect for those seeking a peaceful existence, and if you do have kids, there are schools in both Phuket Town and Chalong. Phuket International Zoo and the commercial park on the outskirts of Phuket Town are also just a 10-minute drive away.
There are not so many properties available at Cape Panwa, so please click here to see a list of available real estate in the area.
