Phuket Town can be a strange entity for tourists, off the beaten path and not geared towards holidaymakers usually keeps them away. However, Phuket Town is steeped in history, and one only has to look at the old Sino-Portuguese architecture to see that. If you would really like to explore Phuket Town on foot, you should join the Phuket Town Walk Rally on Saturday 11th May.
Starting at midday, you can register at Dragon Park on Thalang Road to take part in this scavenger hunt type event. It really is a great way to see Phuket Town with other likeminded individuals, and especially good for those families with children.
The walk will continue to until 5:30PM, after which there will be a dinner and prize giving ceremony.
All competitors will receive a t-shirt at the beginning of the event from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
The entry fees are just 199 baht for 2 people, so to enter the event, you can visit the TAT office on the first floor of the Metropole Hotel, 1 Soi Surin, Montri Rd, Phuket Town.
